its not an accident if you do it on purpose
Oct 29th
Since it seemed to go so well last week, I will share with you another TMI from Wife the Teacher. Seriously, she should just have an entire blog herself entitled “Disgusting Thing I Had to Touch Todayâ€. It would be epic, and nobody would want to read it, because it would make their soul sad.
On this particular day, Wife didn’t have her classroom aide with her (she has 27 four year olds, she’s the only teacher. Technically, she has a “full-time†aide, but the phrase “full-time†is up for debate.) She gets the kids to line up along the wall More >
slower writing
Oct 26th
Sorry Folks, but I am giving you advance warning of some slower output for the next couple weeks, as I’m going to attempt the nanowrimo.
For those of you who might wonder what this is, it’s a “get off your arse and do what you always said you would do but always found an excuse not to†moment, so I’m going to give it a whirl. The short version, I have to produce 50,000 words by the end of November. I make no claims as to whether or not they will be the right words or even spelled correctly. Hell, I More >
gilbert? is that you?
Oct 23rd
I just took a call from a user that had me at a loss for words. The entire time I was on the phone with her, there was an incredibly loud and annoying bird squaking in the background. In fact, it was so irritating, I have to assume that it was actually on the shoulder of the person I was talking to.
There are only three reasons this is acceptable:
1. She has never talked on a phone before
2. She is a pirate.
3. She is Jaffar, and Iago is trying to sell me Aflac insurance.

musical memoir monday
Oct 19th
Sorry Travis, but once again I will bastardize your Memoir Monday and turn it into something musical, mainly because it’s my blog and I can ruin your good ideas here if I want to.
Please don’t hurt me.
Last Memoir Monday, I shared with you the unplugged version of one of the songs from the band I was a part of in high school, Abuse Me Felmo. This next little ditty was originally recorded as a bootleg at a show, but we had it remastered and added to our CD because it turned out really well.

I haven’t had a good one of these for awhile, but this one is short and sweet and got me to laugh. It actually comes from Wife, who for those who don’t know is a kindergarten teacher at a public school. On a daily basis, she has more TMI-type stories than I get in a month. On a somewhat related note, before you send your kids to school, actually make sure they’re potty trained. Seriously. The teachers thank you in advance.
On this particular day she’s out doing recess duty, and one of her kids comes running up.

still searching for the right word

Back in college, I was sitting near a busy sidewalk having a quick lunch at a little sidewalk cafe type thing. I didn’t often eat there, mainly because they sold bubble tea and I didn’t know what bubble tea was so it kind of scared me away most times. But this particular day I was feeling adventurous, and the universe gave me something in return.
I was just kind of zoning out people watching, and I noticed a sight-impaired gentleman with a seeing eye dog walk across the crosswalk and head down the sidewalk towards me. Out of the corner of More >
day late, but here’s your dollar

Travis had his hundredth post and invited some of his friends to roast him, myself included. He also had Tamara make a button, which might be the most awesome thing ever in the history of things.
So if you want to go over and watch the torching commence, go ahead and abuse your eyeballs. Remember that you can’t unread anything.
Fellow roasters included Tamara (who is so cheap, she makes html buttons for family for Christmas), Ed (who uses ellipses to compensate for a tiny….vocabulary), Adrienzgirl (who really likes Twilight, nuff said), and Daffy (who according to her new picture wears pink track pants).

When I was younger, our family did not have the video games. My friends all had a Nintendo, or if they were really lucky, a Sega Genesis. I would go to their houses and we’d try beating whatever game was popular, usually with the help of the Game Genie (helpful hint, if you stuck 2 of them together you got to use 6 codes).
Our house was not so lucky. We had an Atari 2800 with a crate of games. By crate, I mean that moving the container with the games in it would require a small truck. We accumulated these More >

“OK ma’am, I’ve reset your password to a temporary one, and it will ask you to pick a new one for yourself the first time you login. Your temporary password is capital C-“
“Capital C?! Is that it?! That’s much too short!â€
“-no ma’am I wasn’t even close to done.â€

I’m going to partake in the Memoir Mondays started by Travis, but with a twist. That’s right kiddos, this is an Audio Memoir Monday. Heck, if you’re lucky (or unlucky, depends on if you like it or not) I’m going to replay an audio tune for you folks.
I was the drummer in a band in high school that was, well, decent considering we were all 17. We played a bunch of shows and were moderately popular and won a couple battle of the bands, but our sound wasn’t exactly all the rage to high school audiences who were way into More >
