If you’ve ever wondered why tech support people are cranky, here’s probably the conversation they had right before you called.  This is an actual transcript of a conversation between the service desk and end user yesterday:

User:  I can’t long in

Tech:  What does it say on your screen when you try?

User:  ”Locked out” or “invalid password something……”

Tech:  Ok, I unlocked your account, please type in your password again

User:  What password?

Tech:  The password you normally type into this login screen

User:  My new one or the old one?

Tech:  Did you change your password recently?

User:  No

Tech:  Type in the last one you used to get logged More >

musical memoir monday – felmo is free

It’s memoir mondays, where I still studiously refuse to capitalize proper nouns and post headings, and where once again I subject you all to old music that I found on an old hard drive.  So sit back, get a cup of fair trade coffee, let your goatee grow out, and feel the rageangst of a bunch of teenagers.

At the height of our popularity, we had oh, maybe about 100 fans, and I’m judging that by the number of CD’s we sold.  Total.  Go figure.  Anyfame, this song was one of our more popular ones, probably because it contained the lyrics, “I’m bored, More >

Cheers for Thursdays in which the blagonets hum with the sound of TMI broadcast around the world and preserved for future generations to discover and wonder at the mistakes made by their ancestors.  Hip hip!

In my junior year of college, my friends and I rented both floors of this large old house on campus.  We had ten people living in this place, which basically turned it into…well you can probably imagine.  I lived down on the first floor, which usually had the most people hanging out in it because we actually kept it clean (the upstairs was only safe for More >

I read this article about Avatar making people depressed, and I can say I’m one of them.  Not because I won’t ever go to Pandora, but because if they had spent 1/100th of their budget on a script it would have been even better.

Cards on the table, I really liked this movie, and thought it was very good.  One of the best movies I’ve ever seen? No.  To me, one of the qualities I like in a good movie is how every day after you’ve seen it, it makes you think about it more, and your appreciation for it grows.  Avatar More >

Ever had a story that you really wanted to tell but you never managed to hit that narrow range of drunkedness where you felt comfortable enough to tell it but still could talk clearly?  That’s why Travis created Memoir Mondays!  No Jager needed!

Back in the fall of 2000, I started a collegiate career that would last me the better part of a decade.  I loaded up the family van with my meager belongings and my family members for the not-so-very-long drive to Madison so I could move into my dorm room.  I even got to drive the van!  Woo hoo! Back my freshman year of college, I had several friends that were really good musicians.  I am a drummer, but that’s a pretty hard instrument to play in a dorm room, so my friends who played way more portable instruments got way more of a chance to practice than I.

Jordan was one of the best guitarists I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing with.  Al was a fantastic singer and a pretty good bassist, if he could remember the song that we were playing.  Lucy played a mean viola and could belt it out.  Joe is the best singer I’ve More >

A long time ago, I had helped Travis at I Like To Fish with a little bit of coding problem, which has been rendered completely moot by his fantastic new design (seriously, I felt like I was on a Bravo show wandering around a new place and admiring the crown moldings with a bunch of people who use the words “fantastic” and “esoteric” a lot).

For payment, he sent me some candy.  I requested that he send me local specialty candy, the type of odd things that I wouldn’t be able to get up here in Wisconsin, and boy did he deliver. More >

Sunday was our take down the Christmas decorations day, so we hauled up all the boxes and tubs from the basement.  Most of our decor is hand-me-downs from our parents and a lot of gifts because we don’t have a lot of money to be spending on things yet, which makes our decorations pretty random and unique.

So we get almost everything down and packed away, and the last thing left is the Christmas tree.  We have an artificial tree, and the first time we put it up we put the lights on REALLY well so that way we can just More >

blank tuesday #5 winnar

You may be wondering why blank tuesday is still on number five, and the answer is: number six will be saved for a wonderful giveaway.  And as soon as I think of something to giveaway and a suitably awesome image, I will put up another ridiculous picture and we will all go frolic in the field of captions and irony.

That means the winner of this week’s contest will get to wear the crown for a little bit longer than usual, so let’s get on with the coronation:

For some reason I can hear Patrick Stewart saying this, and he’s very, very upset that More >

If you’re reading this, then the redirect worked and you found the new home for Badly Drawn Monsters (formerly This Is Why Your Hold Time Is So Long).

You’ll need to update your RSS feed (if you use that) or update your Google Reader with the new address.

Unfortunately, one thing that got lost was the followers list from my last place, so you’ll have to refollow by clicking on the FriendConnect box on the sidebar.  I don’t want to lose anyone, and I’m hoping that everyone can make the move along with me.  I’ll even buy pizza and beer for anyone More >
